MEHSANA 

History In mythology, Mehsana district has been described as part of the Anarkat or Apardat region in the suburbs like Skanda Purana and Dharmanya Purana. Taranga, Vadnagar, Modhera, and Becharaji talukas have been identified as different areas in various Puranas as well as in texts. Vadnagar also appears to be the capital of Anarkatpur.
